Shopes Closet: Dungarees and a white tee

posted on: 23.5.13

Dungarees: Fashion Union*, White tee: Topshop, Strappy shoes: Fashion Union*, Satchel: DSUK*, Sunglasses: Thrift, Watch: Michael Kors, Earrings: ASOS,

(Shope) This is an upload and run back to my textbooks kind of situation, but I absolutely ADORE this items for summer! I already live in my other dungarees, so these are a welcome addition to the collection! And the dungarees are only £28 which I think is quite good, some sites are definitely taking the mick a bit with the prices they are charging for a bit of denim! I'm feeling a slow love for white coming on, these shoes definitely sparked it. I've seen the most gorgeous white backpack, and strappy tea dress that I will buy at some point, so keep an eye out for that!

My first exam is on tomorrow, omgosh. Our next post will be around the 29th of May as that is when the Company Style Blogger awards is...SO EXCITED. I have a feeling I'm going to be so overdressed compared to what I've seen some other bloggers are wearing. I'm not wearing a ball gown or anything haha, I'm wearing an off shoulder neon orange dress (i think)!

Brand focus #2: Mr Garbe and London Retro

posted on: 15.5.13

London Retro Glasses* via MyOptique, Tee: Mr Garbe*, Belt: Thrift, Skirt: H&M, Watch: Micheal Kors

(Shope) How YUM are my new glasses guys! When I was first introduced to London Retro, and had a browse I immediately knew what frame I had to have as my hubby Proudlock just rocks them so well ;) I love the shape of the frame, they are lovely and lightweight and came with a gorgeous case (which I forgot to photograph, but there's a photo on my Instagram). Fab price range too, anyone looking for a new pair of frames definitely check them out! They have the snazziest range of women's glasses, and MyOptique has tons of other designer glasses and fit your prescription for you too (which is so convenient). Now, I will actually want to wear my glasses. I mean, I did like my other frame (typical rayban ones), but always used to wear them when I literally couldn't see what was going on haha. I can feel a glasses obsession coming on...

Second up on the brand focus menu is Mr Garbe. They are a newly launched t shirt line, and the concept behind it is making us lot (the younger generation) more aware of past Nigerian Icons. I thought the idea behind it was so original, and the tees themselves are super snazzy :) I have the Wole Soyanika tee. Here is a link to the creative director talking about the brand if youre interested in having a watch, which I did find very interesting if I have to say so myself!

One last thing, thanks so much to everyone who voted for us in the Company Style Awards, we are both so excited! We have already sorted out what we are wearing because we are that keen haha! We were so pleased we were nominated for the blogging duo category, as that is literally us, so we think we might have a shot at it. Win or lose I'm just so excited to get dressed up and have a nice time :)

Hope I introduced you to a few new brands which you hadn't heard of! I like doing these posts :) Speak soon, I'm currently very organised and have an outfit post scheduled to go up after this.

What to wear #1: Prom dress ideas under £100

posted on: 10.5.13

Quick disclaimer: All samples were sent to us just to shoot and give you guys some ideas, all were returned! Though I would have loved to keep them all ;)
Shope:
One shoulder embellished maxi (1st in collage and 3rd photo) - £65 - Little Mistress
Mink embellished strapless maxi (2nd in collage and first photo) - £70 - Little Mistress
Cream sleeveless plunge neck jumpsuit, yes its a jumpsuit (3rd in collage, 5th photo) - £65 - Little Mistress

Shore:
Floral applique maxi dress (1st and 3rd in collage, and final photo) - £68 - Little Mistress
Keyhole embellished tunic dress (2nd in collage) - £55 - Little Mistress

(Shope) Ill stop apologising for long absences as we all know its revision/ exam period. But me and Shore always get asked questions about prom dresses and ball dresses, and ones that aren't too expensive! I got my resourceful hat on, and when I attended press days a couple of weeks ago, I discovered Little Mistress! They have some gorgeous prom style dresses, and the prices are just ridiculously reasonable. I also thought it would be better for us to show you what the dresses look like on rather than just do a collage/wishlist - we were kindly lent the dresses to give you guys some ideas! My absolute fave is the jumpsuit (3rd photo, 1st collage. Detail shot is 5th photo), its the best spin on the typical prom dress, and the style is still formal enough for a prom. Love it!

Good luck with everyone hunting for prom dresses! I know for a fact that it was an absolute mission and a half for us a couple of years back when we had our prom!

And if you have a spare minute, we would love if you could vote us to win "best blogging duo" in Company Style Awards!

Twins Closet: Our May Ball ft. Gorgeous Couture

posted on: 3.5.13

Shore: Dress: Gorgeous Couture*, Shoes: Milano Shoes, Bag: Monki, Jewellery: Jinksy
Shope: Dress: Gorgeous Couture*, Shoes: Milano Shoes (similar at Jones Bootmaker), Bag: eBay, Jewellery: ASOS
I'm pretty sure you all know Amy, but you can follow here on twitter here :) Her dress is from ASOS!

(Shope) So after all the dress deliberation, our leavers ball finally came round. The weather was beautiful, and the sun was setting which made the lighting very pretty. Both me and Shore were originally wearing long dresses, mine was that blue one I showed you a couple of posts back, and Shores a white one. I switched to this one however, as do you know when everyone tells you that something looks nice, but you just don't feel 100% comfortable in it? That was me in the blue dress! Our Gorgeous Couture dresses are absolutely stunning quality, they came in big black boxes, all wrapped up with velvet hangers - so beautiful! And I managed to snap up my shoes for only £27 and they are literally identical to an £80 pair of Topshop ones!

For once we kind of dressed like twins! Also, I wasn't actually planning to have my hair this curly, I just wanted big loose curls, so I thought I'd whack some bendy rollers in (never used them before), and touch it up with heat when I take them out. I took them out and I was like oh my god what on earth has happened! My hair was absolutely massive!! After about 10 minutes solid of brushing I managed to get it down to this more reasonable state, which I think I actually quite like. Moral of the story? Don't underestimate the power of bendy rollers! I wanted to bombard you all with more photos from the night, but that would require me to make sure that every single person in the photos wouldn't mind being on my blog, and that would've been a long task :) Check out mine and Shores instagram and twitter feeds as we both been uploading tirelessly on those social media outlets!

Thank you also for all of your lovely comments on Instagram, I was reading them like "OMG WHY IS EVERYONE SO NICE" haha :)

And if you have a spare minute, we would love if you could vote us to win "best blogging duo" in Company Style Awards! Voting closes on the 4th of May :)
